BACS Direct Debit Mandate
In the event that the net activity in your Payment Processor Account with Adyen is negative or you are required to fund your Adyen Payment Processor Account for any other reason relating to the Shopify Payments Terms of Service (including the Adyen Terms embedded therein), you authorise and request Shopify, and Adyen (Service user number: 182827), acting as Shopify's payment service provider, to debit your Payout Account for any amount owed pursuant to the Shopify Payments Terms of Services (including the Adyen Terms), at any frequency. Shopify, through its payment service provider Adyen, will debit your Payout Account by using the Bankers' Automated Clearing Services (Bacs) for any Payout Account added by you and covered by the Bacs scheme. You confirm that you are the only person required to authorise debits from the designated account; or you confirm that you are a representative of the organisation, and you confirm that you have been authorised on behalf of your organisation to authorise Shopify and Adyen to debit your Payout Account. You acknowledge that your acceptance of the Shopify Payments Terms of Service is your agreement to this debit mandate and is representative of your signature as if you had signed this in person.
This authorization applies to debits for any amount due and at any frequency, and you agree to maintain sufficient funds and/or value in the applicable account(s) to permit such debits. You acknowledge you are responsible for ensuring that your accounts can accept the applicable country scheme debits (e.g. Bacs for UK bank accounts).
You agree to receive notice of any debit pursuant to this authorization two days prior to the date of the debit or as otherwise agreed.
The Direct Debit Guarantee
This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay direct debits.
If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your direct debit, Shopify or Adyen will notify you within two working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Shopify or Adyen to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.
If an error is made in the payment of your direct debit, by Shopify, Adyen or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society.
If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Shopify or Adyen asks you to.
You can cancel a direct debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.
